Project Description: The project is a 100 unit senior citizen (62 years and older) independent housing community. The housing complex will total 122,730 square feet. The building height is 45 feet. The project includes a gym, recreation room, community dinning room, game room, library, computer room, and 16,600 square feet of open space. AHN & Associates was retained after the application was filed and put on hold for several years. After studying the outstanding issues for the standstill, we determined, an aggressive community outreach campaign would be required. We promptly created brochures and written information regarding the project. The main core of opposition was the abutting and adjacent neighbors. We personally visited each neighbor to address any concerns and to answer their questions. Shortly thereafter, we were able to create a core group of supporters for the project including key groups such as One Generation, The Greater San Fernando Chamber of Commerce, VICA and others.
